My motivation to pursue science is deeply rooted in my desire to make a tangible difference in the world through research. The prospect of being at the forefront of innovation and using my skills and expertise to contribute something new that could help others is deeply fulfilling to me.
As a Latino graduate student, having a month dedicated to celebrating my heritage at the University fosters a sense of belonging and inclusion. This month not only acknowledges the contributions of the Latino and Hispanic communities in the US but also honors those who have left their homes in search of a better future. It serves as a powerful reminder of the pride we should take in our heritage, which has shaped us into resilient and hardworking individuals.
