What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?
I am continuously motivated to pursue science because of the people that surround me. Both my family and friends provide me with the support to keep striving to achieve my goals and remind me that anything is possible. In addition to having a strong support system, I remain motivated to make myself proud. I have worked hard and know that I can achieve whatever I set my mind to. I continue to pursue a career in the medical field in the hopes that I can make a difference, make my family proud, and inspire other little girls.
What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you?
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time that I am able to appreciate my roots and those who paved the way for me. The impacts and contributions Hispanics have made in the past continue to inspire me today and have been influential in my decision to pursue a future in science. I am forever grateful to be a part of a culture that is rich in history, traditions, and love. The sense of community between Hispanics is truly amazing and a blessing to be able to experience. I hope to inspire future generations of Hispanics to continue to chase their dreams and follow their passions, no matter what roadblocks they encounter.
