What motivates me to pursue science is my curiosity and fascination of learning how unique each human is even though we only have 1 percent of genetic differences. I’m fascinated by how our bodies are made to function and how each part of us tells us so much. In forensics, I get to understand these processes and use them to trace something back to someone or something. While we often can't answer the why question behind situations, science allows me to understand the how.
Hispanic Heritage Month means celebrating and honoring where I come from. It reminds me of the efforts my parents have made for me and my brother to have better opportunities. I’m grateful for the culture I was raised in and proud to have it be a part of who I am and share it with those around me.
