Black History Month is a focused time to celebrate the numerous contributions of Black people to every single aspect of American life. Often overlooked, the impact that Black people have made on American advancement and culture is undeniable. I personally celebrate my history every day, in everything that I do. I have taught my children about who they are and the significance of our ancestors to the cultural past, present, and future. It is a personal mission to create opportunities to influence the implementation of equity, diversity, and inclusion. It is one way to demonstrate the value of history, and the promise of a better tomorrow, because our true history is out in proper perspective.
