One of my favorite books as a child was Charlie Brown’s ‘Cyclopedia: Super Questions and Answers and Amazing Facts. I was always curious from a young age as to why certain things happened—from the changing of the leaves with the seasons to the growth and development we go through as humans.
Black History Month is an annual reminder of all the wonderful contributions Black people have made to society, and all the areas and interests we share as a collective group. We often overlook the fact that Black people have a variety of interests, so I always make it a point to highlight the stories that are not as well known as others.
I love Penn State. I met my wife there, who is also a scientist. We lived in the same dorm freshman year, Pennypacker Hall, which was home to many educational-interest groups. A lot of my lifelong friends are Penn State alums also, and without the University, my life would be completely different
