Black History Month is so important, especially to the younger generations, to see the rich history and contributions of African Americans in this country. It’s a time to celebrate the firsts and those making tremendous contributions to their communities and the country, and a time to recognize contributions of some of their own family members or neighbors. And if we acknowledge achievements during this one month, we will keep that energy alive in the other eleven months.
