I think the reason I got into science was an eagerness to understand how some essential functions happen (such as digestion), how they go wrong, and how they can be fixed. I think what drew me to my other major, Biobehavioral Health, was a desire to learn how to teach people how important health is and how best to take care of themselves.
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Recognizing the struggles the Black community has endured and the positive contributions we've made in spite of those struggles.
Anything else you would like to share?
I attribute a lot of my success and growth here at University Park to having found a community in my extracurriculars. I'm so glad to have joined a sorority, Zeta Phi Beta; a team, Club Quidditch; and the advocacy group Adult Learners at Penn State, which has allowed me to connect with other adult students like me.
