I enjoy learning about many different genetic disorders and learning about how cells function. My passion for biology began in high school through my 10th grade biology teacher. My favorite topic within biology is genetics. Learning about how we grow and develop is fascinating. I am motivated to do medicine through my family. At the age of 6, I lost my great-grandmother through the misdiagnosis of pneumonia. When they made the correction and figured out she had cancer, it was too late.
Black History Month is a time when Black people can be recognized for all the contributions they put into society. It's nice to see all the hidden gems that don't always get the opportunity to get praised.
