What motivates you to do science?
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Black History Month is a time to recognize all the achievements of fellow African Americans who achieve greatness. Learning about those in our past in all the different fields allows for growth in the future, especially in spaces where there might be little to no representation. However, to its core, I believe Black History Month is a celebration of us and the beautiful things we can accomplish when we put our minds to it. Furthermore, it empowers Black individuals and gives recognition that is not often given.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
After completing my education at Penn State, I plan on furthering my learning and practicing my skills at medical school. By attending medical school, I can become more knowledgeable to start my career and ultimately change the future of science and medicine. Participating in several organizations and clubs like Blue & White Society allowed me to grow as a person here, and I want to become someone that people can look up to.
