What motivates you to do science?

As a scientist I am driven by my curiosity to learn, my passion to pursue, and my hope that I can make a discovery that will improve a health outcome for the next person. Moreover, as an underrepresented scientist, I am also motivated by the potential to inspire future scientists to step out of the mold and dare to achieve their dreams.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Black History Month is a window to meaningful dialogues, new explorations into history, and an appreciation of Black excellence. It is just the tip of the iceberg.
