Science Staff Advisory Council (Sci-SAC)

The purpose of the Eberly College of Science Staff Advisory Council (Sci-SAC) is to act as a liaison between the staff of the college and the Office of the Dean, to advocate on behalf of staff, and to promote a positive working culture within the college. Members will forward recommendations and solutions to senior leadership; provide professional development and networking opportunities for staff; and support staff initiatives to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the college. The committee and/or team representatives will meet with senior leadership or their designates at least once a year to discuss issues and the committee's progress. The dean will also attend one full Sci-SAC meeting annually.

Planetarium Event

Wednesday, June 25, 2025

The Eberly College of Science hosted a special event at the planetarium to showcase the newly updated facilities and to strengthen connections between staff and the groundbreaking research happening across the college.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore the upgraded space, experience enhanced projection and seating, and see firsthand how these improvements will support both teaching and outreach. Faculty and researchers shared insights into their current projects, demonstrating how the planetarium can serve as a bridge between scientific discovery and community engagement.

The evening provided not only a glimpse of the cosmos through cutting-edge technology, but also a chance for staff to connect more deeply with the college’s mission and the exciting science being carried out right here at Penn State.
