Biography

Anthony (Trey) Koehle, B.S. | Research Technologist Advanced Professional

Anthony serves as a Research Technologist (Advanced Professional) within the Bordenstein Lab, where his work focuses on the intricate interactions between Wolbachia bacteria and the insect microbiome. Utilizing Drosophila models, his research aims to bridge the gap in our understanding of how these microbial symbionts influence insect reproductive mechanisms.

Before joining the Bordenstein Lab, Anthony contributed to the Department of Nutritional Sciences, conducting research on the ketogenic diet, Vitamin B12 deficiency, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Outside of the laboratory, he is an avid artist and naturalist with a particular interest in pottery, painting, and the cultivation of bonsai, orchids, bromeliads, and native plant species.
