Our Faculty

The faculty members within the Eberly College of Science are some of the foremost researchers in the world. The quality of our faculty can be identified in part by the number of distinguished awards and recognitions that they have received, including:

  • 14 Members of the National Academy of Sciences
  • 14 Fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
  • 13 of Penn State’s 22 active Evan Pugh professors are in the College of Science

Accessible and Approachable

While these credentials are impressive, just as important is how accessible and approachable our faculty are. Our faculty have won numerous awards for excellence in undergraduate instruction and advising. The College even has a "Take Your Professor to Lunch" program where the Dean's Office will foot the bill for you and a few of your fellow students to invite your professor to lunch in one of the Dining Commons in order to facilitate student-faculty interaction.

All undergraduate science courses are taught by professors, with teaching assistants assisting with lab and recitation sections in many instances. This provides students with ample opportunity to get to know their professors, as well as having a number of different resources to utilize for learning assistance.
