Penn State Abington
Lecture and laboratory courses in inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, introductory and advanced biochemistry, and biochemistry of the gene are regularly offered to Abington students. Research opportunities with our research faculty in the areas of: organic chemistry, protein biochemistry, theoretical chemistry, and conformational chemistry are also available under the auspices of ACURA (Abington College Undergraduate Research Activities).
Penn State Altoona
The chemistry program at Penn State Altoona offers students the opportunity to study the key areas of chemistry: analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic and physical.
The program provides a uniquely stimulating environment for scientific discoveries through close interaction between students and faculty. Outstanding research projects span a wide range of disciplines. Much of the research performed by our faculty is highly interdisciplinary, and significantly contributes to the advancement of the sciences and that of our students. Organic, inorganic, physical and theoretical chemistry is paired with cutting edge cross-disciplinary research in the biosciences, materials science, and nanotechnology.

Penn State Behrend
Chemistry is sometimes called “the central science” for good reason—it is an incredibly versatile field of study.
So versatile, in fact, that Penn State Behrend offers you four options for tailoring your B.S. in Chemistry to your career goals: General Chemistry, the most traditional option, is a solid foundation for chemistry- and health-related employment or graduate study; Biochemistry, which applies the principles of chemistry to biological systems, is the starting point for your career in molecular biology, genetics, and microbiology; Business, if you’re looking for a technical degree that can prepare you to market or sell products in chemistry-dependent industries such as pharmaceuticals, foods, or cosmetics; and Education, if you picture yourself teaching in a secondary-school setting.
All Chemistry majors first study the fundamentals of general, organic, and analytical chemistry. Later coursework includes physical and inorganic chemistry, chemical instrumentation, and chemical literature, along with biochemistry, spectroscopy, crystallography, and other focused topics.
Penn State Berks
Each year, more and more students are choosing to complete their degrees at Penn State Berks. With 21 baccalaureate degrees in a broad range of disciplines, and more being added each year, the college offers many options and opportunities. Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus offers several options for your educational experience. We offer 11 baccalaureate degrees and 5 associate degrees. Penn State Hazleton’s chemistry department offers the first two years of chemistry education towards an academic degree as part of Penn State’s 2 + 2 plan. After courses in general chemistry and organic chemistry, students transfer to the University Park campus, where they continue the final two years of their studies.

Penn State Schuylkill offers several options for your education and enrichment, where you can begin any one of over 275 Penn State majors, or you can stay at the Schuylkill campus to earn your degree.
