Research Interests

I had three years of association with the Drosophila development project in India. I found most enthralling is Signaling Pathways for Drosophila Development which is a broad term. There are many signaling pathways are involved in Drosophila Development however I am interested in Hippo Signaling Pathway which can lead to a fatal disease like Cancer. Drosophila Crumbs (CRB) is a membrane protein that regulates Hippo/Warts pathway through FERM (Expanded, Merlin, and Kibra) binding protein, and Crumbs recruits βH-spectrin (βH) which is a less studied protein in Drosophila. So, I am interested to elucidate the role of another signaling molecule/(s) which can downregulate YAP through Hippo (Hpo)/Watrs (Wts) for the future therapeutic intervention of cancer.
