Research Interests

The Huber Lab studies how evolution shapes genetic diversity in humans and other species. We develop new computational tools to uncover how mutation, migration, and natural selection leave traces in genomes, even in ancient DNA that is thousands of years old. By analyzing genetic data from past and present populations, we explore how changing environments, diets, and diseases have influenced human evolution. We also apply these approaches to conservation, using genetic data to guide coral restoration and protect marine biodiversity. Our work provides new insights into both our evolutionary past and strategies for sustaining species in the future.
