Mathematics Minor

Requirements for the Mathematics Minor

1) Complete the following courses:

MATH 140 - 4 credits

MATH 141 - 4 credits

 

2) Complete 6-8 credits from the following courses:

MATH 220 - 2 credits

MATH 230 - 4 credits

MATH 231 - 2 credits

MATH 232 - 2 credits

MATH 240 - 4 credits

MATH 250 - 3 credits

MATH 251 - 4 credits

MATH 252 - 1 credit

MATH 310 - 3 credits

MATH 311W - 3 credits

MATH 312 - 3 credits

 

A student who has completed both MATH 141B and MATH 240 may use these courses as a prerequisite for any course that requires MATH 220, MATH 231, or MATH 250.

 

3) Complete 12 credits from 400-level MATH courses

If a student takes courses that duplicate (like MATH 414 and 418 or MATH 451 and 455), only one will count.  At most 3 credits of MATH 497 (Learning Assistants Experience) may be used towards this requirement.

Students must receive a grade of C or higher in all the courses for the minor.

 

Deadline

To graduate with a minor, students must be accepted in the minor before the late drop deadline of their last semester.

 

Declaration

To declare a mathematics minor, select the Degree Planning and Progress tab on LionPATH and then choose Update Academics.
