Secondary Mathematics Noyce Scholarship
What We Do:
The Penn State Secondary Mathematics Noyce Scholarship Program is a competitive program that trains students to be successful secondary math teachers in high-needs schools. It is funded by a $1 million National Science Foundation grant and provides scholarships to eligible students who agree to teach in a high-needs school after attaining their degree.
Who Is Eligible?
- Students enrolled as double-majors in mathematics and secondary mathematics education
OR
- Students enrolled in the mathematics and secondary mathematics education IUG program

Noyce Scholars Receive:
Up to $19,000 per year for two years*
Specialized training in teaching in high-needs schools
Field experience in rural and urban high-needs schools
Multiple mentors including College of Education alumni and faculty, and current teachers
*Scholarships will be awarded as forgivable loans. Scholars must commit to two years of teaching in a high-needs urban or rural school for each year of support, a total of four years.
