Kaitlyn Webb (formerly Kaitlyn Dowden) began pursuing a Ph.D. in Penn State's Department of Statistics in August 2020, as well as a dual title in Social Data Analytics beginning in 2021. Her research interests focus on statistical data privacy, such as formal and differential privacy, with interest in applications to social sciences, especially in government statistics, political science, and economics. She is a student leader for the Women+ in Statistics and Data Science group at Penn State. In 2023, she was awarded the Janet L. Norwood Science Achievement Scholarship from the Science Achievement Graduate Fellows program in the Eberly College of Science. She received her bachelor's from Purdue University in December 2017 with a double major in mathematics and statistics with a minor in economics.
