For the first semester, you are strongly advised to take only STAT 500 as that is the pre-requisite for most other courses. The course(s) that you have registered using LionPATH should show up on your CANVAS site on the first day of class, if not before.

Important dates:

Regular drop: After the deadline, you will need to pay tuition penalty which increases quickly.

Late drop: You will not be able to late drop after the deadline.

 

To resume back to the study: 

If you skip one or more Fall or Spring semesters, you will need to submit a resume of study at the following site (good to do it at least one month before the start of the new semester)

To drop a course:

Use LionPATH, however, if you are dropping the only course, then you have to complete the withdrawal form available at: http://www.registrar.psu.edu/student_forms/withdrawal_form.cfm  and submit it to the Grad School.  

 

Requirement for completion of the Certificate:

Overall GPA of 3.0 or more. Completed 12 credits of approved STAT courses.

 

To request the Graduate Certificate:

After you have completed the requirement of the Graduate Certificate, you should check your address listed on LionPath as the correct mailing address and change to the correct one if needed. Our staff will then begin the process to have your Certificate verified, added to your transcript, and the Certificate sent to your address of record. Certificates will be mailed 3-4 weeks after the send of each semester.

Once you have completed the required courses, please submit this Certificate Completion Approval Form

 

I forgot to submit a request for my certificate:

If you completed the certificate one or more semester prior, you must submit a Resume Study Application.  Once your application has been processed and approved, please complete the Certificate Completion Approval Form (above)

 

Continue taking Applied Statistics courses after you have obtained the Graduate Certificate:

To take more courses after obtaining the Graduate Certificate, one can do so by applying for a “Change of major” to non-degree with the Penn State Graduate School.

*Only up to 15 non-degree credits taken within five years (including those taken for the Graduate Certificate program) can be transferred to the Master of Applied Statistics program if one gets admission to the M.A.S. program.
