The Penn State Department of Statistics, in partnership with the University’s Statistics Club, will host a semester-long webinar series to connect current undergraduate students with alumni who will share their stories, highlighting the diverse career paths that are possible with a degree in statistics.
Through informal discussions with alumni at different stages of their careers — early (3-5 years after graduation), mid (12-15 years after graduation), and senior (25-30 years after graduation) — the series aims to help students envision their own career trajectories by providing a window into the lives of statistics professionals: what they are able to do with their degrees and the skills they acquired during their education at Penn State.
The first session, to be held via Zoom Webinar from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, will feature alumnus Dan Kapinos, who graduated from Penn State in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in statistics and is now a partner in Aon’s Rewards Solutions practice and head of the company’s Equity Services team.
Registration is required. Interested parties can sign up here.
