This one-hour seminar will focus on current major approaches to fully utilize the power in observational studies, which are commonly used in clinical and epidemiological research. The topics covered in this seminar will include various types of bias in observational studies, the effect modification, and mediation in causal inferences from observational studies. I will use real-world examples that I have worked on to illustrate the most important approaches available according to the topics covered in this talk.
