Alumni Updates

Byran Smucker, who graduated with a doctorate in statistics and operations research in 2010, is now a senior scientist at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, providing support to PIs in study design and analysis, and conducting statistical research in experimental design and related areas.
 

Roman Jandarov, who graduated with a doctorate in 2012, was promoted to full professor in the Department of Biostatistics, Health Informatics, & Data Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. Roman is a well-funded researcher whose lab focuses on developing novel statistical dimension reduction methods with applications in biomedical data. Outside of academia, he is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, an active grappling competitor, and an instructor in MMA and BJJ.
