Biotechnology Mini Summer School is an opportunity for high school students who are fascinated by DNA and biotechnology and are interested in learning more about cutting-edge research in biopharmaceutical, agricultural, and environmental research areas. During this four-day program, participants will conduct wet-lab experiments in the Penn State graduate student biotechnology training lab. Techniques like DNA cloning and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of DNA will be introduced. Participants will also hear from scientists and industry professionals in biopharmaceutical, agricultural, and environmental biotechnology careers.
Please note that on the final day of camp, dismissal typically occurs earlier than 4:00 p.m. Some camps may also include a closing ceremony or showcase for families on the final day. Specific dismissal times and event details will be shared with families closer to the start of camp.
Location: University Park (Exact locations will be communicated to registrants 2 weeks prior to camp)
Lunch:Campers will eat lunch in the dining commons.
