This new version of camp is designed to get campers up close and personal with their ancestry and to learn how the field of genetics emerged into our current understanding of DNA. During camp, campers will explore several topics, including inherited traits, evolution, anthropology, and the scientific techniques used to determine properties of inheritance. Campers will also conduct on–line genealogical research and family interviews to learn about their families, traits, and traditions. For this four–day camp, campers will not submit a DNA sample for a national database, but they will isolate and examine DNA in the lab and learn about the way this marvelous molecule is responsible for making us all unique.
