The 2016 Braddock Scholarship of up to $6,000 annually, is available to outstanding high school seniors who are interested in the study of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physics, or Pre-Medicine at Penn State. Several scholarships are offered annually to students with excellent SAT performance, excellent letters of recommendation and an outstanding high school transcript. The applicant’s transcript should indicate an emphasis on science coursework or be consistent with the intent to major in one of the indicated disciplines.
The Braddock Scholarship is for full-time students majoring in any of the listed disciplines and is renewable for up to four years or until the student has earned 130 credits. The scholarship is contingent upon maintaining a semester GPA of at least 3.50. The annual award, in conjunction with a Schreyer Honors College award and any other scholarship or aid, may not exceed the student’s cost of Penn State tuition, room and board.
How To Apply
To be considered for a Braddock Scholarship, students need only apply to the Schreyer Honors College(SHC). All SHC applicants indicating an interest in the majors listed above and who provide a letter of recommendation from a science teacher in their application, will be automatically considered. Receipt of a Braddock Scholarship is not, however, contingent on admission to the Schreyer Honors College.
Applications to the Schreyer Honors College must be received by January 15, 2015
