The 2019 Braddock Scholarship of up to $6,000 annually, is available to outstanding high school seniors who are interested in the study of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physics, or Pre-Medicine at Penn State's University Park campus. Several scholarships are offered annually to incoming students with excellent SAT performance, completion of scholarship application and an outstanding high school transcript. The applicant’s high school transcript should indicate an emphasis on science coursework or be consistent with the intent to major in one of the indicated disciplines.

Who Qualifies?

The Braddock Scholarship is for prospective students who plan to be full-time students at the University Park campus and will majoring in any of the listed disciplines. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years or until the student has earned 130 Penn State credits. The scholarship is contingent upon making progress toward one of the degrees listed above. The annual award, in conjunction with a Schreyer Honors College award and any other permitted scholarships or aid, may not exceed the student’s cost of Penn State tuition, room and board.   Braddock scholars are not eligible to receive the Millennium Scholars Award.

How To Apply

To be considered for a Braddock Scholarship, prospective students should apply to the Science Scholarship and Schreyer Honors College (SHC) in their senior year of high school. Receipt of a Braddock Scholarship is not, however, contingent on admission to the Schreyer Honors College.
