Eberly College of Science tenure-line faculty promotions, effective July 1, 2026

Eight tenured and tenure-line faculty members in the Eberly College of Science have received academic promotions, effective July 1, 2026.

The college’s nontenure-line faculty promotions have also been announced.

The following individuals have been promoted to professor:

• Eugenio Bianchi, professor of physics, Department of Physics
• Abraham Falcone, professor of astronomy and astrophysics, Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics
• Jesse Lasky, professor of biology, Department of Biology
• Shaun Mahony, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
• Xiaoyue Niu, professor of statistics, Department of Statistics

The following individuals have been promoted to associate professor:

• Christian Huber, associate professor of biology, Department of Biology
• Denise Chiamaka Okafor, associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
• Zachary Szpiech, associate professor of biology, Department of Biology
