What is FEPAC?

The mission of the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) is to maintain and to enhance the quality of forensic science education through a formal evaluation and recognition of college-level academic programs. The primary function of the Commission is to develop and to maintain standards and to administer an accreditation program that recognizes and distinguishes high quality undergraduate and graduate forensic science programs.

FEPAC promotes academic quality through formal accreditation of forensic science programs. All programs that FEPAC accredits are located within institutions that are accredited by a regional accreditation organization. The FEPAC accreditation process and policies employ rigorous, consensus standards that assure and advance academic quality at accredited institutions. (source: fepac-edu.org)

An Assurance of Quality

A program that has been accredited by FEPAC has been put to the test. Curriculum, faculty, contributions to the forensic community, job placement of students post graduation, and all other aspects of the program have been thoroughly evaluated by forensic practitioners and educators. Those that earn accreditation status are the programs that offer a comprehensive science education designed to prepare students for a career in criminalistics and forensic science.

Why it Matters

There are hundreds of forensic science degree programs out there - and many of them look similar - so what sets some programs apart from the others? The FEPAC accreditation for a Forensic Science degree program does just that. It's a mark of quality that assures your Forensic Science degree program is top quality and provides the scientifically rigorous education required to find a career in the field after graduation.
