Abstract:  The discovery of the electromagnetic counterpart of the binary neutron star merger GW170817 provided a new window into joint electromagnetic and gravitational wave-based astrophysics. Soon, with continued upgrades to the LIGO/Virgo network and the beginning of the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), an unprecedented era of Big Data within multi-messenger astrophysics will begin. Here, I will give an overview of LSST and ongoing efforts to discover and analyze multi-messenger events in realtime.
