Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations for the department Business Office
  • Evaluate, supervise, and train financial assistants
  • Review and approve all financial documents (SAP Concur, SIMBA, Shop OnLion)
  • Process part-time payroll documents
  • Ensure the accuracy of all financial-related documents and compliance to university, college, department, and funding agency policies and guidelines
  • Monitor account balances and assist in resolving discrepancies
  • Balance budgets, forecast expenses, and project balances
  • Consult with the department’s Administrative Coordinator to determine efficient distribution of budget office workload responsibilities
  • Serve as backup to the Administrative Coordinator in their absence
  • Make financial decisions on behalf of the Department Head as necessary and provide the head with advice on departmental spending
