Biography

My name is Haylea Debolt, and I am from a small town in Ohio called Uhrichsville. I graduated from Muskingum University in 2018 with a B.S. in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Criminal Justice. While at Muskingum, I also played on the varsity softball team.

I chose Penn State because of how well-rounded the forensics program is, and I also wanted the chance to experience the opportunities that a large school provides. In my free time, I enjoy working out, going to various concerts, watching football, and hanging out with my cat, Olive.

I perform research as part of the Dorman Research Group. My project explores the possibility of using high-resolution mass spectrometry to more readily identify ignitable liquids, as well as estimation of the degree of weathering as compared to traditional methodologies employing nominal-mass spectrometry.
