What's covered?

There is no frontier like outer space! In this camp, campers will embark on a Mars mission and will be tasked to use their unique strengths to survive in outer space and find a route back to Earth! Through hands-on activities and interactions with Penn State faculty and students, campers will learn about fascinating topics in fields including astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and more!

This camp will also focus on helping our campers realize the excitement and challenges that await them in a college environment, as well as the resources and strengths they can draw upon to succeed there! Campers will work alongside mentors who are prepared to accommodate their individual differences and learning styles. They will discover and test their own abilities in a safe, accepting environment while learning about the cutting-edge of what we know about space, space travel, and human survival in space. In the end, our hope is that campers leave with a reinvigorated sense of confidence in themselves as well as a deep appreciation for where science has taken us and where it can take us in the future!
