Prerequisite(s): One semester of Quantum Mechanics

 

Co-taught by Nobel Laureate Professor Tony Leggett of the University of Illinois and Professor Ying Liu of Penn State University, this course will provide an introduction to the basic physics of superconductivity. Students from Penn State, the University of Illinois, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) will learn side by side in classroom space provided by SJTU. Being offered in the exciting international city of Shanghai, the course combines classroom learning, supervised research, and after-class exploration of the city.
