This year, the Penn State Society of Physics Students (SPS) and
Exhibiting Artists (PSEA) Clubs will be hosting our third annual Art
Competition, with cash prizes for students! (in conjunction with Arts Crawl 2011)
As students in the sciences, the way we view the world is often portrayed in the way we model systems or collect data. Sometimes, our efforts have not only scientific value but also aesthetic value. For example, SEM pictures of samples or videos generated from computer modeling not only allow us to learn but are often pretty!
If you have any such "science art" or have any artistic hobbies, we
encourage you to submit a piece to our 3rd Annual Art Exhibition. This
year’s theme is “Dimensions in Art and Science”
The event takes place on Friday, 9 April. Prizes are $50 for Best Art,
$50 for Best Science, and $100 for Best Overall.
