Summer Open House at Lehigh Valley Health Network – Cedar Crest Hospital
Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 8:30-12:00 p.m.
The University of South Florida College of Medicine is now accepting applications from prospective medical students for a program jointly created by USF COM and Lehigh Valley Health Network to prepare physician leaders committed to accelerating change in health care. The Scholarly Excellence, Leadership Experiences, Collaborative Learning Program (SELECT) has matriculated its inaugural class in Fall 2011 and is actively recruiting our second class of future change agents who aspire to passionately serve patients and transform healthcare in the 21st century.
SELECT program students will complete a distinctive curriculum emphasizing leadership development, interprofessional collaboration, health care quality and safety, and cost management that is integrated with their medical and clinical science instruction. Across all four years of the SELECT program, students will be mentored by top medical faculty from both USF and LHVN and have the opportunity to build the professional networks needed to drive reform in medicine and health care.
Students spend their first two years taking classes at the USF campus in Tampa, FL, and then go to the USF/LVHN campus in Allentown, PA, for two years of focused clinical education. USF COM is nationally recognized for its student-centered innovative medical school curriculum, which encompasses the full spectrum of health. LVHN, known for its quality, safety and modern team care, received the 2010 University HealthSystem Consortium Leadership Award for demonstrated excellence in delivering high quality care.
PLEASE RSVP.
