Study Abroad 101

  • Audience: Penn State students interested in studying abroad
  • Time: Tuesday, November 15, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
  • Location: 412 Boucke Building and via PolyCom for Penn State campuses
  • Hosted by: University Office of Global Programs
  • Study Abroad 101 is an informative peer-to-peer presentation on the basics of study abroad. Students will be introduced to the types of programs available through Penn State, short and long-term programs, housing options, types of courses available, financial aid and cost, and tips about the application process.
  • Penn State campuses can join the special International Education Week Study Abroad 101 session by video conference. Contact Kristin Thomas at klt16@psu.edu by November 8, 2011 to link to Study Abroad 101 presentation.


International Careers Panel

 

Screening of the Movie HOME

  • Audience: All are welcome
  • Time: Tuesday, November 15, 7:00 p.m.
  • Location: Foster Auditorium, Paterno Library

·         Hosted by: University Libraries, Center for Sustainability, Rock Ethics Institute, School of International Affairs, Center for Global Studies, the College of Agricultural Sciences’ Office of International Programs, and the United Nations Association of Centre County.

The University Libraries will screen the film Home by Yann Arthus-Bertrand on November 15 at 7:00 p.m. in Foster Auditorium. Home is an educational film about the present state of the global environment which offers a view of Earth that few have seen, featuring breathtaking aerial footage that sweeps across the terrain of more than 50 countries. The film will be followed by a panel discussion sponsored and moderated by the Center for Sustainability and the Rock Ethics Institute. Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony

  • Audience: All are welcome
  • Time: Wednesday, November 16 and Friday, November 18, Stop by between 12:15 and 2:20 p.m.
  • Location: Tea House in 34 Ritenour Building
  • Hosted by: GongFu Cha Club
  • Cost: Free! The cost of the tea is waived for International Education Week
  • Stop by between 12:15 and 2:20 p.m. to sample tea brewed according to the traditional Chinese tea ceremony known as GongFu Cha. The Tea House will be waiving the cost of the tea during these hours in celebration of International Education Week.
