Positions

Apply today to join the Science-U team for this coming summer! There are a wide variety of full-time and part-time positions, as well as internships, work study, and volunteer positions, available for the following:

Application Process

Note: We ask that all Penn State undergraduate and graduate students complete the FAFSA and eLion "Request for Summer Work Study" to determine eligibility status.  Determining work study eligibility assists us in identifying funding sources. However, qualifying for work study funding is NOT a prerequisite for receiving an interview and/or position with Science-U.

Before you apply online, you will need to prepare the following items:

  1. The names and contact information of two references.
  2. Letter of Interest (cover letter).
  3. Your Penn State Identification Number (PSU students only).
  4. Emergency contact and insurance information.
  5. You will also need to upload pdf/rich text WORD files of the following:
    • A résumé detailing previous work experience.
    • Your class schedule for the spring and summer (if applicable) semester (PSU students only).
    • Transcript details (an email or scanned print-out from eLion is acceptable).

Interviews

Interviews will be taking place from January - March. Please submit your online application and materials no later than March 1, 2012. All interviews are held in Room 237 Ritenour Building.  Business professional attire is expected. Positions are filled as interviews are conducted. You are encouraged to apply early!

Initial offers will be extended in February and March, yet interviews will be ongoing until all positions are filled. You are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible to maximize your chance of receiving an interview and position offer.

Staff Training and Expectations

Science-U staff training has always included an 'above-and-beyond' effort to educate summer wage payroll staff and instructors about daily processes, camper safety protocols, pedagogy, and methods to design and establish successful learning environments.

Our staff is held accountable and is always challenged to uphold the highest level of excellence when it comes to providing a safe, creative, and immersive learning experience for all participants. Please contact us for more information on our advanced staff training and preparation.
